 Sunkary BadjieName: Sunkary Badjie
Age: 41
Profession: Chairman / Mayor Brikama Area Council

I came to know FHAG/Arthur Aalst in 2005 through Ousman Camara, a native of Somita Village at a presentation ceremony of medical items to Somita Community Clinic. That great occasion of joy marked the beginning of a relation of success and progress based on mutual understanding and trust which continued to date. The presence of Arthur / FHAG in the Gambia and Somita in particular has great impact on the life of my people.

FHAG's intervention Areas Health, Education and Agriculture have to a great extend positively changed and significantly improved the living standards and livelihood of the community of Somita.

This, coupled with FHAG's support to other communities, namely, Bakadagi, Kanyupeh and BAC (Brikama Area Council) to name few is a clear illustration of its interest, and love for the Gambian people, a trait that endears FHAG to me and Sundry.

FHAG's Humanitarian gesture served as my motivation, and when I was approached by Arthur Aalst in 2008 to take up appointment as a board member I did not hesitate to respond to the call / appointment knowing well that, that was a well deserving and worthy task of serving my communities interest.

As the Chairman/Mayor of Brikama Area Council (BAC), I am deeply honoured and priviliged to become a board member of FHAG. My 2009 resolution is to remain committed to FHAG.

God bless FHAG, its donors in Belgium and Holland and its board members in Holland, Belgium and the Gambia.
